Last week I spent a few days in Belgrade, Serbia. If you happen to check the political situation on the Balkans, Europe, probably you have read that a month ago there was a crisis in Serbia because one of its regions, Kosovo, proclaimed itself independent republic. Sometimes I really can not understand why the world is pretending that it becomes smaller and one for all while there are still -some- people who pretend to behave on their own and isolated. Well. That’s another story. Serbia is cool and Belgrade is fabulous, that’s a fact. I went on business there, but when in Serbia you’ll always find time to relax and below are the pictures evidence of this statement. And I also heard a nasty joke about Serbia but I’ll tell you this at the end.
So, lets start with the park. In Belgrade there is huge park that was fortress a few centuries ago. The ruins are still there and at night the park is full of people drinking beer or having fun (but I have only daytime photos).

In the old century-old park there is exposition reminding about the wars Serbia had passed through. There are marine bombs and tanks and other quite old and strange weapons.

Young tennis players work hard against the century old fortress walls. Do we have next Kurnikova here?

Belgrade is not made of green fields, in new Belgrade you’ll see the new city: concrete, glass and modern malls. Which is good, it means people have more money to spend.

Back to romance, this is my favorite cafeteria located on Skadarska Str. in old Belgrade.

And this is strange psychedelic statue in front of a pub on the bank of Sava river.

And last but not least: the strangest car I have ever seen. don’t get this wrong, not all cars look like this one and I guess even in old bad days cars were not like this. In fact in Serbia there are many new cars or at least newer than this poor old Yugo!
