When I was in Bratislava some weeks ago, the Castle was closed for renovation and I couldn’t get in. However, it is surrounded by great park with stunning view to old town and the modern city. The castle today hosts the Historical museum, and as we all are not very keen on history and artifacts, I guess this isn’t a problem.

Entrance to the park is free of charge and if it is not too windy you can spend there pretty much time. I did, because I really loved the view.

Castle’s website is: www.snm.sk
Open daily from 9.00 to 17.00 (closed on Modays)
There should be also a Treasure Collection opened daily from 10.00 to 12.00 but I couldn’t find my way to it.

Town walls are also part of this royal fortification system, but from 15th c. till today only the western part is preserved.
