A few days ago suncho wrote a comment which provoke us to make a small investigation on the infilght drinks. So here is the result from it including some of the major air carriers all over the world. Cheers!

United Airlines
On international flights all drinks are free but you will be charged for them on domestic ones. Wine and beers are slightly cheaper than the spirits and your first drink will come with nuts for free. Bad news for everyone who has reached legal age in his/her own country, but is sill under 21: United does not serve alcohol if you are under 21 even on international flights. What is worse, you can’t lie because the cabin crew is allowed to check your passport. In addition, United Airlines will hate you if you call the cabin crew and ask for a drink.

Virgin Drinks
Drinks are free BUT you can get only one serving no matter how long is your fight. In addition, your economy ticket will open the bottle up to 60 ml which is the maximum amount that your plastic cup can take.

British Airways
Wine, beer and sprits are free and you can get a drink any time until landing. Gossips say that you can have a sip even during the landing when the crew changes your glass for a plastic one (if you are in the business class). Wines come in 187 ml and usually you can take your drink with you when you get off the plane.

Lufthansa
Drinks are free the only problem is that often they do not serve anything else but beer especially on domestic or short distance flights. For overseas adventurers 187 ml bottles of wine are packed and ready for you with varieties from Bordeaux to Argentina.

KLM
Surprise! KLM does not serve alcohol for its European flights. No beer, no wine, just juice and sparkling bottled water. This restriction is not valid for the business class but still there the choice is quite limited.

SAS
If you travel in economy class with SAS you will be charged even for water. However in all Scandinavian countries the alcohol is quite expensive and people usually act madly when they have it so the cabin crew is trained to serve more of everything. Even if your flight is early in the morning, you will not have problems to order a glass of wine or spirit.

Qantas
Cheers and welcome to Australia. Quantas is one of the most friendly in-flight drink air carriers. The varieties are thousands, from wines to cocktails or beers. Do not booze too much and keep in mind that for internal flights you will have to pay for your drinks. In international you can have your bottles with you when you are getting off the plane. On the top of that, all drinks on all flights come with a packet of peanuts for free.

Emirates
Do not think that the Arabic airline will keep you sober. Actually the selection of drinks is good and these are free. No matter in which class you travel, economy or business, you will receive fine in-flight menu with varieties to choose from.

Singapore Airlines
The best cocktails above the clouds are brought to you by Singapore Airlines. Even if you travel in the economy class you will receive a small list of cocktails to choose from. In addition food can be fabulous. Singapore is spending for food, beverages and service from £15 in economy to £40 in first class per passenger which is about 10% more than other air carriers.

Now cheers and don’t roll down when they get off the airplane!
