AP today made my day with a great travel news. Hartsdale Pet Cemetery made its way to travel history and entered Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel 2009. There the sight shares fame with architectural and historical landmarks such as the Taj Mahal and the Great Pyramids.

A spokeswoman for the travel guide publisher says the book tries to include “a variety of travel experiences.” Indeed, finally something exciting and off the beaten path.
The Hartsdale Pet Cemetery is actually located some 20 miles north of NYC. For its 112 year history it became home of more than 70000 creatures and even a few humans. It even calls itself America’s First and Most Prestigious Pet Burial Grounds.
