Travel communities are gaining popularity and the fact that even many high-class hotels are proud to be called Peoples’ choice of this-or-that-site.com means that yes, your travel opinion matters. For example The Milestone which we mentioned yesterday, 5-star hotel and rated as the best in whole Western Europe has on its website a banner saying its TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice 2006. The power is in your hands. And while everybody has seen TripAdvisor, there are new communities making their way to your heart. Here are two of them.
VibeAgent (www.vibeagent.com)
Still in its beta (cos it’s so cool to have a beta next to your logo) has a few nice features. For example they recently launched personalized maps to show where have you been or where are your friends now. You can zoom into a geography of interest and see who in your network has stayed there, and what they have to say about it. Also My News works as a feed for the activity in your networks. However, they hate this feature to be called feed.
TripIt (www.tripit.com)
On the other hand Tripit (yes, you got it right, it’s in beta too!) is completely new way to manage your trips. I love it. You simply forward the email with your e-ticket and the system dos the rest for you. You forward to them the email with your hotel booking and voila! the system gets all the information from it. This way you have everything you need in one place and the chance to forget something is minimal. Truly awesome. You can see the full details here: http://flash.tripit.com/2007050300/
Okay. I have 10 invites for VibeAgent and 5 invites for Tripit. If you wanna give them a try and need an account, leave your email below, I will send you one!
