If you are flying to Nepal, please bring your own goats, we’ll roast them.
That’s how in short I would generalize the way Nepal Airlines are fixing their Boeing 757. BBC announced that the airline made a small religious sacrifice honoring the god Akash Bhairab (also protector of the sky and seen as logo of the company itself) because they found a problem in one of the airplanes.
The massacre happened at Katmandu airport and right next to the broken plane. According to the official Nepal spokesman after the ceremony the machine successfully completed a trip to Hong Kong where its electronics were repaired corresponding to our more or less down to earth standards.
BBC also says that Nepal Airlines have just two Boeings and the problems with them have caused them major loses and postponement of a number of flights in recent weeks. I guess with two goats at least their in-flight meals should be good.
Just for the buzz: the same Nepal Airlines company earlier this year launched a campaign “Have you seen Nepal?” featuring a photo of the Peruvian ruins of Machu Picchu which actually are located on the other side of the world.
