Do you believe in ghosts? Do you believe in fantastic masks, candies, treats and tricks? Do you believe in the hell good party? Halloween NYC is yours then!
No doubt, New York is the biggest city and creative center on this planet (and eventually this galaxy, if we do not count our pals from Mars) so just like anything else there the Halloween celebration is absolutely crazy and unforgettable event. Taking part in it, even as a spectator is one of the 100 travel things you should experience before you die, honestly.
Haute Contour
Sure, it is not obligatory to walk the streets dressed like the mad professor, but surely it will make you feel more comfortable if you wear crazy festival costume. Everything is allowed as long as you’re having fun in it. You will see people dressed like cat-woman, the statue of liberty, extraterrestrials and even.. ehem… penises. Beautiful, scary, big or impressive, you can attract the attention even if you organize your friends too: surely you will impress the others if you all dress like one. The 101 Dalmatians maybe? Or a dozen of male-Cruella De Vils?
Theme
Each year Halloween NYC has its special theme and everything is build around it: from the program to the costumes. The parade is accompanied by many performances so they generally stick to the main topic. The Theme for 2007 is Wings of Desire. Of course you’re free to make your own interpretation of the theme! From the wings of mind to the wings of Notre dame’s pigeons, your creativity is absolutely welcome.
Where Exactly?
The parade takes place on 6th Avenue in the area from 23rd Street to Canal Street. You can see the map below to get better orientation.

Why to Attend?
Because this is the Carnival of the Big Apple, the Parade of the City that Never Sleeps and a must see for everyone. The atmosphere is one of its kind, better than anything else that could be experienced in New York! “Absolutely anything goes,” says USA Today. “Be prepared to drop your jaw.”
