Pizza made long way and highlighted the gourmet history. It was born in the poor neighborhoods of Naples and passed the ocean to settle in everyone’s heart and stomach. Though considered purely Italian, the truth is that the modern pizza industry was born in the United States. Today we have Domino’s and take and bake pizzerias and here is a short selection of the finest pizza places in America.

Pepe’s Pizza
Frank Pepe’s work became an institution in this business. It is family owned and its high reputation is widespread among all pizza lovers. Expect good coal-fired oven tomato pie and fine mozzarella.
Locations: New Haven, Fairfiled and Manchester

Pizzeria Mozza
Mario Batali and Joseph Bastianich combined hospitality and pizza ingredients to create this lovely place. Their menu will surprise you with variety of true Italian bruschette, antipasti, panini and of course pizza.
Locations: Los Angeles

Una Pizza Napoletana
This is absolutely expensive and truly traditional pizzeria. It’s one of those places which you either like it or hate it forever. People say that there work only pizza gurus who devoted their lives to the pizza.
Location: New York

Advice how to recognize the good pizza:

  • look for a wood-fired or coal-fired oven with a burning fire;
  • the ingredients should be cooked just enough for the flavors to combine, but not so much that they lose their form or taste;
  • the pizza should be crispy, chewy and soft;
  • there shouldn’t smell like grease, it’s not real pizza if it’s greasy;

Which is your favorite pizzeria?

Pepe’s pizza has a location in new HAven, not “New Heaven.”

I agree and it’s corrected (by the way the pizza is heavenly tasty)
