Cozumel is much more than a diving destination. It’s great place for tequila and alcohol fun. Where to say cheers when you go there? We have a few ides:

Carlos ‘n Charlies
If you land in San Miguel (the biggest and actually the only city on the island) first drop by Carlos ‘n Charlies. Its one of the most popular bars but I have seen their branded t-shirts way beyond the boundaries of the traditional Mexico holidays makers with people from Japan happily wearing them around Europe. See, it’s worldwide famous, so it’s a must see for every holidaymaker.

Hard Rock Café
For the traditionalists I always recommend to go to Hard Rock Café which is quite the same as all Hardrocks all over the world: old pictures and guitars nailed on the walls. The good news is that the local stage offers good music by local bands and patient public even if you try your karaoke skills after your 10th tekilla.

Bar Hopping!
For the adventurers is the next drinking option called Cozumel Bar Hop. You guessed right: you have 5 bars in one trip. Even more, the trip will last 4-5 hours which means that you should drink really fast. It is organized by a local company of fresh guides who will take you to the hottest bars and clubs on the island.

These are:

  • Paradise Beach
  • Rasta Bar
  • Coconuts (island’s highest point, all 41ft!)
  • Mezcalitos Bar
  • Carlos’n Charlies (see, everyone ends here)

You get this for less than $50 and skip the worries with the rent-a-car/ driver or rent-a-bike dilemma which you’ll surely face because Cozumel is place for leisure, cocktails and fun, not for driving.
