The video from the previous post reminded me of my stay in EastSide hostel in Budapest. It lasted exactly 20 minutes and was one of the most miserable hostel experiences ever.

There were three of us that in a rainy day get off the boat in Budapest and after not-so-healthy late lunch in Subway headed to the hostel. We had our reservations made through HostelWorld for about 3 weeks or so and we were pretty confident that we won’t have any problems with the reservations because in addition HostelWorld charged us some money for the reservation. Quite naiive!

After a long day full of important tasks as taking pictures and walking around Bratislava, you’ll find that all you need is a good dinner. The touristic part of the city is full of places to drink or eat and that makes your choice really hard.

If you happen to visit Bratislava, probably you will have something in mind about the old socialistic times and the specific lifestyle in the 70’s and 80’s. In addition, the hotel has absolutely east-oriented name, it is called Kyjev (like Kiev, the capital of Ukraine). At least I do! I was really surprised to find this hotel in the center of Bratislava so I couldn’t stop it, I did it and I book a night there.

If you are heading to Belvedere with big expectations, you probably leave it disappointed and frustrated. It least I did.

The palace’s history starts around the beginning of the 18th c. when Price Eugene bought piece of land and started its reconstruction to summer garden and a gallery. the building today is known as Lower Belvedere. Upper Belvedere was constructed later the same century which today is just another picture gallery that hosts Klimt and another few famous artists.
